Lesson learned, always wait for the cake to cool completely before icing it! I did know that, but I was in such a rush to get it looking pretty with the feather icing that I just couldn't wait.
A whole week ahead to think of the next cake. Any ideas?

FYI - love the blog, when your family get sick of sampling these cakes there's a newly formed flat down Puriri Street that will always need somthing to have with their nightly cups of tea!! Happy baking :)

ReplyDeleteLoving the blog, I had to go to Jamie Oliver's and Nigella's websites after reading the blog entries! I think cakes may be my favourite food group (i know there not really a food group, but that's how much I love them!) I found this recipe http://www.nigella.com/recipe/recipe_detail.aspx?rid=252 - I would be happy to supply choc and cointreau for the chocolate cloud cake (the title even sounds heavenly)... I cant bake to save myself, I lose the plot when I have to make the mixture fluffy. Keep up the good work! Sophs
